Summer Reading 2020

Kids, Join In Our Summer of (Virtual) Fun!

This summer, we're keeping things simple. Choose ten books—any books you want! Graphic novels, audiobooks, anything!—then fill out the reading journal attached at the bottom of this page. The journal gives you an opportunity to engage with those books on a variety of levels—whether through illustrating the story’s plot, capturing a favorite sentence, and more. Email your completed journal to contests@bluewillowbookshop.com or drop it off in the shop by August 15. Then, ten random winners will receive a $10 gift card to the shop!

Every other week, we're holding a virtual reading and activity with one of our favorite authors. Stay tuned for details!

Don't forget to stop by for virtual story times throughout the summer—every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. on Facebook Live!

Ways for Grown Ups to Get In On the Action!

Shop favorite Anne Bogel (of Modern Mrs. Darcy fame) was supposed to visit us this summer in support of her wonderful new book, Don't Overthink It. So this summer, we're handing our reading challenge over to her. Technically, this challenge was created for a whole year of reading. But we know y'all, and we think you can totally handle it in three months.

Keep an eye on our events calendar for an updated list of summer offerings—from familiar favorites like Beat the Heat with publishing reps Liz and Brian to new authors we can't wait for you to (virtually) meet.
