Theta Antique Show
The Theta Charity Antiques Show is of the top charity antique shows in the country, exhibiting fine furniture and décor from a wide variety of design styles and time periods with proceeds benefitting deserving local charities. The 2018 Show takes place November 16 – November 18 in Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center bringing together top exhibitors, designers, collectors and admirers of ancient to contemporary art and design.
With a goal of philanthropy, the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta took a cue from a prominent group of socialites in New York and launched the first Theta Charity Antiques Show in 1952 at the Shamrock Hotel in downtown Houston.
Last year, the Show celebrated its 65th anniversary with a Design Weekend event, honoring design in home décor, apparel and other goods. This year, the Show returns to its roots as the Theta Charity Antiques Show, embracing its heritage as an antiques event and evolving the Show’s appeal for a new generation of designers and buyers. With a focus on the timeless beauty of botanicals, the Theta Charity Antiques Show invites attendees to experience Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center in full bloom with the preview party, designer walks, art walks and speaker events. This year’s featured speakers include renowned designers Ashley Woodson Bailey, James Farmer, Suzanne Kasler, Miles Redd and Carolyne Roehm. Also new this year is the Artisan Village, a highly-curated collection for the home, with items valued for their craftsmanship and beauty.
Blue Willow is delighted to partner with the Theta Antique Show as the official bookseller of the show.
