Smart Chicks Kick It Tour

We are thrilled to host one of the stops on the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour for 2010!  Seven amazing YA authors will appear at one venue, talking about their books and anything else.  To keep up-to-date with the Smart Chicks, visit their website.

Please read all the information on this page, so you understand how the event will operate.

We will sell books at Blue Willow until 4 p.m. and resume at the Refuge when the doors open at 6 p.m.

The authors kickin' it at this stop are:

  • Kelley Armstrong
  • Holly Black
  • Sarah Rees Brennan
  • Cassandra Clare
  • Melissa Marr
  • Alyson Noel
  • Margie Stohl

The event will be held at The Refuge, which is on the East end of the Connection Center, 13150 Memorial Drive in HoustonPlease help us support The Refuge by bringing a canned good to the event.  These canned goods will be distributed to local food shelves in need.

There will be a 15-30 minute Q&A session followed by the book signing.  You may bring books from home, but in order to get in the signing line, you must purchase at least one of the author’s books from Blue Willow Bookshop.

The Smart Chicks will not be limiting the number of books signed per author.  However, to keep the line moving, there will be a three item limit per author, per trip through the line.  In other words, if someone has more than three items for one author, they can get three items signed, then go back through the line to have the author sign additional items.

In addition to books purchased from Blue Willow, The Smart Chicks WILL sign items NOT purchased at Blue Willow (including non-book items and the Smart Chicks downloadable poster, which is available at the bottom of the page, labeled SmartChicksHouston.pdf).

Smart Chicks T-shirts will NOT be available for purchase at the event, but Smart Chicks tanks, t-shirts and sweatshirts can be purchased here:

We will begin handing out line numbers 1 hour before the event begins.

There will be no videotaping allowed at this event.
