What: Sheryl Sandberg, co-author with Adam Grant of OPTION B, will be in conversation with Dr. Mike Feinberg, as they talk about building resilience and moving forward after life’s inevitable setbacks. After the sudden death of her husband, Sheryl felt certain that she and her children would never feel pure joy again. Her friend Adam, a psychologist at Wharton, suggested specific steps people can take to recover and rebound. Sheryl will share what she and Adam learned together about helping others in crisis, developing compassion for ourselves, raising strong children, and creating resilient families, communities and workplaces. They will discuss the capacity of the human spirit to persevere and to rediscover joy.

SHERYL SANDBERG is chief operating officer at Facebook and co-author of OPTION B: FACING ADVERSITY, BUILDING RESILIENCE, AND FINDING JOY with Wharton professor and bestselling author Adam Grant. She is also the international best-selling author of LEAN IN: WOMEN, WORK AND THE WILL TO LEAD. Previously, she was vice president of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google, chief of staff for the United States Treasury Department, and an economist with the World Bank. She received B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard University.
DR. MIKE FEINBERG is Co-Founder of the KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) Foundation and Executive Vice Chair of KIPP Houston, which includes 26 public charter schools. To date, 90% of the KIPPsters who have left the KIPP Houston middle schools have gone on to college. Mike received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.Ed. from National-Louis University, and honorary doctorates from Yale University and Duke University. In 1994, he co-founded KIPP with Dave Levin and established KIPP Academy Houston a year later.
