About the Author: Kwame Alexander is a poet, educator, and the New York Times Bestselling author of 25 books, including Rebound, the highly anticipated prequel to the 2015 Newbery Medal-winning The Crossover, a middle grade novel in verse. The Crossover also received the Coretta Scott King Author Award Honor, The NCTE Charlotte Huck Honor, the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, and the Paterson Poetry Prize, while his middle grade novel Booked was longlisted for the 2016 National Book Award. If you cannot attend the event, please pick up your unclaimed book(s) within a month of the event date. After that date, your book will be donated to a Houston-based literacy organization.
