We are very excited to partner with the Writer's League of Texas as we welcome Amanda Churchill to the shop to launch her new book, The Turtle House. Amanda will appear in conversation with Tabitha Forney.

If you are not feeling well, we encourage you to remain at home and we will get your book signed for you. If you need a surgical mask, we have them on hand if you find yourself without one. 

NOTE: Books will be available for pick up at the event. Although reservations are not required, we appreciate them! You can RSVP hereNOTE: Completing this RSVP form does not guarantee you a book; please purchase one at the link below. 

If you live outside of the Houston area or cannot attend the event, Amanda would be happy to sign your books and we can ship them to you or you can pick them up at the shop. If that's the case, please add the books to your cart and indicate any personalization requests in the comments section when you check out.

In order to go through the signing line and meet Amanda for book personalization, please purchase The Turtle House from Blue Willow Bookshop. At the time of your purchase, we will issue a signing line ticket that indicates your place in line. Your book and signing line ticket can be picked up at the event.

If you cannot attend the event or you live out of town and would like a copy of the book, please indicate any personalization requests in the comments section when you check out.

About the Authors:

Amanda Churchill is a writer living in Texas. Her work has been featured in Hobart Pulp, Witness, River Styx, and other outlets. She was a Writer’s League of Texas 2021 Fellow and holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas. The Turtle House is her first novel.

A native Texan, Tabitha Forney is a novelist and an attorney. Her debut novel, PAPER AIRPLANES, was published by She Writes Press and has garnered many awards and accolades, including the 2022 Eric Hoffer Book Awards Winner in General Fiction, 2022 Eric Hoffer First Horizon Book Awards Winner, 2022 16th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards Finalist in both Literary Fiction and Women's Fiction, 2022 IPPY Awards Bronze Winner in Best First Book (Fiction), 2022 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards Finalist in both Best New Voice: Fiction & Fiction: General, and 2021 American Fiction Awards Finalist in Literary Fiction. She’s a graduate of Rice University and the University of Texas School of Law.


Payment type must be "CreditCard." Shipping will be charged if you want the book shipped to you. If you'd prefer to use our curbside pickup program, we ask that you please collect your book(s) within one month of the event date. After that date, your book will be donated to a Houston-based literacy organization.

International shipping can run from $25-50US in addition to the cost of the book and can take up to 3 months to reach its destination. Additionally, we can only ship to certain regions and countries. This purchase will include a shipping charge of $50US and if the charge is less than that, we will refund the difference when we ship your book.
