We are thrilled to welcome Allison Horrocks and Mary Mahoney in conversation to discuss their new book Dolls of Our Lives: Why We Can't Quit American Girl. Each ticket comes with a copy of Dolls of Our Lives: Why We Can't Quit American Girl. Allison and Mary will appear with Margaret Lyons from The New York Times.

This TICKETED event will be delivered via a Zoom webinar at 7:00pm CDT/8:00pm ET. You can purchase your ticket on Eventbrite here. You will receive the book and a bespoke bookplate signed by the authors as part of your ticket. The Zoom webinar link will be sent to the email on your Eventbrite registration 24 hours and 1 hour before the event. Refunds will be available up to 24 hours before the event.

An important note on shipping:
Shipping is expensive and we don’t make money on it. We know the amount is high - this is a true reflection of how much shipping costs.
There are four shipping categories - 1. In-store pick up (no shipping), 2. United States, 3. Canada, and 4. Rest of World. PLEASE make sure that your shipping choice reflects where you want the book shipped to! We will be checking the orders each week, and if your shipping address does not match the shipping you have paid for, we will contact you once, via email, and if we do not hear from you within a week we will cancel and refund your order. That email will come directly from us - from either cathy@bluewillowbookshop.com or subscriptions@bluewillowbookshop.com.
When will I get my book?
We will let you know when your books are available for in-store pickup (this is from our store in Houston, Texas ONLY) and all other books will be shipped after the event. If you choose in-store pick up, please pick up your unclaimed book(s) within a month of the event date. After that date, your book will be donated to a Houston-based literacy organization.
About the creators:
Mary Mahoney is a historian and podcaster. She co-hosts American Girls, a podcast reliving the American Girl series book by book. When not writing or podcasting, Mary can be found in pursuit of Dolly Parton-related trivia, a house museum tour, or the next great reality show (ideally, all of the above). She lives in Connecticut with her wife.
Allison Horrocks is a public historian, park ranger, and podcaster. From an early age, Allison has been hooked on finding good books and touring historic sites. Allison loves sharing stories about the past at her day job and being part of the American Girl fandom on the web. Her doll collection lives in Rhode Island.
