About the Author:

Aki Yamaguchi has written HEART DOG—ANGEL IN DISGUISE, a photographic memoir about Jazzy, her 13-year-old heart dog. Sometimes, it seems Heaven has a leak, and angels fall through. Aki Yamaguchi, a shy immigrant woman from Japan meets one in the form of a dog. Aki brings home Jazzy, a timid Border Collie pup bred solely for profit, with countless behavioral problems. Refusing to give up on her, Aki trains herself to train and develop Jazzy until they became inseparable working partners, serving the community in search and rescue and as a therapy dog team. Ultimately, Aki knows she is the one whose life Jazzy blesses forever, and she shares their story in this touching photographic memoir. HEART DOG—ANGEL IN DISGUISE takes you deep into the dog-human partnership and a love that transcends life's boundaries. Aki is a professional dog trainer and photographer. Proceeds from the book will go to The Last Wishes Fund, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to less fortunate pet owners in the Houston area.

A limited number of autographed copies of this book will be available for purchase after the event.  If you cannot attend the event and would like a personalized copy of this book, please call us before the event at (281) 497-8675, or add the book to your cart on our website and add personalization details in the order notes. Payment type must be "CreditCard." Shipping will be charged if you want the book shipped to you. If you cannot attend the event and prefer in-store pick up, please pick up your unclaimed book(s) within a month of the event date. After that date, your book will be donated to a Houston-based literacy organization.
