28 Summers (Large Print / Hardcover)
Need an escape to the beach? Want to head to Nantucket for a long weekend? 28 Summers, by Elin Hilderbrand, immerses you in the beach town setting at the inherited cottage of twenty-three year old Mallory. As Mallory embraces her new home during the summer of 1993, a long weekend of houseguests ignites a romance with Jake, her brother's college friend. Both Mallory and Jake fall utterly in love, but circumstances keep them from trying to build their relationship in a traditional way. Sparked from the movie, Same Time Next Year, that they watch during the first weekend together, they vow to spend every Labor Day weekend together... no matter what! Over the course of the next 28 years and with little or no contact in between, they keep this private tradition and their love continues to sparkle. The start of each chapter reveals a recap of important events from that year which makes the passage of time engaging. Within these major happenings, weave Mallory and Jake's lives making a well-paced book that highlights their personal struggles and joys including new jobs, relationships, and children. Throw this book into your beach bag.... find a beach or pool... make yourself comfortable ... enjoy this satisfying read!— Liz
