Support Local, Win Audiobooks for a Year
You know we're partial to a good, old-fashioned physical books around here. But stories can take all sorts of forms, and (much as we'd like) we don't always have time to sit and read the day away.
That's where audiobooks come in. If you didn't know, we're all pretty big fans. Most of the staff listens to audiobooks on constant rotation—during our morning walks, through drives across town, on long afternoons spent in the garden, and any other time we can think of. So we were understandably pretty excited when we heard that our friends at Libro.fm were giving away free audiobooks for a year.
Let's take step back for a moment. If you (like us) love audiobooks, you need to know about Libro.fm. They partner with independent bookstores across the country to offer digital audiobooks, and the revenue from those sales supports local economies. That sets them apart from another popular audiobook platform (rhymes with "Schmaudible"), which is owned by a company so obsessed with two-day shipping that its employees are afraid to take bathroom breaks. Long story short: Libro.fm rocks.
That's especially true this summer, thanks to their Summer Listening Challenge. Here's how it works: Listen to 20 hours of audiobooks from Libro this summer (that's a cinch, by the way), fill out their PDF worksheet or this online form, send it along to the powers that be, and you'll be entered to win free audiobooks for a year. And you'll be supporting local the whole time.
Need some help getting started? Here are a few of our recent favorites—select the book you're interested in, then click 'Get the Digital Audiobook' to head to Libro and get started.
