Reading Without Walls Celebration
In 2016, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Gene Luen Yang issued a challenge, and he called it Reading Without Walls – it helps you get out of your comfort zone and explore the world through reading!
Here’s how it works:
We love this challenge, and we decided to engage with it along with you, our book community. Over the summer, we encouraged our readers to read without walls, then post a picture of themselves with their book. It was a treat to see where our readers traveled and what they read, and we thank everyone who participated!
To honor an awesome summer of Reading Without Walls, we’re having a celebration in the shop tomorrow (Wednesday the 9th) at 11a.m. Join us for book trivia, cookies, and some great discussions of what we read over the summer.
Check out these pictures of what folks were reading:
We’re proud to support this platform, and we encourage you to get involved. You can learn more about Gene Luen Yang and his Reading Without Walls challenge on his website. We also welcome you to ask us about book recommendations, our favorite audiobook platform (libro.fm), or anything else that’s on your mind.
