Indie Bookstore Day 2022

We're thrilled to welcome you in for Indie Bookstore Day, the annual national holiday celebrating independent bookstores and the awesome folks who support them.

We'll be here in the shop all day, ready to talk books with you, share recommendations, and — yes — hand flail over books we love.

When you stop in, be sure to drop your name in the hat for a chance to win a giant plush Gaston, the darling bulldog from beloved picture book Gaston by Kelly DiPucchio, illustrated by Christian Robinson. We will also have a selection of the Indie Bookstore Day exclusive items! Some are free, others can be purchased — but only on this special bookish holiday.

In the afternoon, we'll be serving a surprise cocktail to sip as you browse. Speaking of spirits, we decided to put a twist on Indie Bookstore Day "Spirit Week" and recommend a few books we love, alongside a drink that fits the theme of the book! Check out those selections and drink pairings below.

In our minds, Indie Bookstore Day is about celebrating community. We're so grateful for our Houston reading community, and our friends further-flung. We'd love to see you on this bookish holiday to celebrate good books, good conversation, and good neighbors.
