Ooh-la-la! We're putting on our fancy clothes to welcome author Jane O'Connor and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser, creators of the fabulous Fancy Nancy series. They will be in town to discuss and sign their newest Fancy Nancy book, Splendiferous Christmas!
This event is free and open to the public; however, if you would like to go through the signing line and meet the author and illustrator for book personalization, you must purchase Splendiferous Christmas from Blue Willow Bookshop. You will receive a signing line ticket at the time of purchase. When you go through the signing line, Jane and Robin will be happy to sign a limited number of books from home, time permitting.
We anticipate that Ree's event on Saturday will take place as planned. If anything changes, we will update this webpage, so check back.
The Pioneer Woman cometh! We cannot wait to meet Ree Drummond, author of a new cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks. On her very popular blog, The Pioneer Woman, Ree regularly gives us glimpses into her daily life, whether she's cooking amazing food, homeschooling her four kids or helping out on the family's working cattle ranch. Ree is a force of nature and we can't wait to welcome her to Houston!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING EVENT UPDATE:
Due to the overwhelming response of Ree's fans, we are moving the venue for her signing to Georgia’s Market, 12171 Katy Freeway (between Kirkwood and Dairy Ashford on the south side of the freeway). Visit their website at http://georgiasmarket.com.
The event is free and open to the public. Signing line tickets are available now at Blue Willow Bookshop and, starting at 11:00 on the day of the event, at Georgia’s Market. A person can pick up two (2) siging cards. Also at 11:00, we will begin selling books at Georgia’s. If you would like to purchase your book prior to that, just stop by the bookshop or give us a call so we can hold copies of The Pioneer Woman Cooks and your signing ticket for you at Will Call.
You will need a signing line card to enter the line to meet Ree for book personalization. Ree will give a presentation at 1:00 p.m. and then we will line up for the signing. She will stay until the last book is signed.
We encourage fans to take advantage of the wonderful lunch and the great natural food products available at Georgia's. We are very excited to be partnering with Georgia's and ask that fans leave the parking spaces closest to the store available for Georgia’s regular Saturday shoppers.
NOTE: Should you need to return The Pioneer Woman Cooks, store credit will be issued.
Get a head start on your Christmas cheer when Nigella Lawson visits. Nigella will be here to chat about and sign her newest book, Nigella Christmas, a great gift for you or a friend!
This event is free and open to the public; customers holding signing line tickets will be given priority seating. To obtain a signing line ticket, which allows you to go through the signing line and meet Nigella Lawson, you must purchase Nigella Christmas from Blue Willow Bookshop.
As we anticipate a large crowd, we highly recommend that you park in Blue Willow's parking lot and walk across the street to Leibman's.
Charity Begins At Home
Felicity, Ms. Valerie's first American Girl (because of the red hair!) learns about charity and giving in her Christmas time story FELICITY'S SURPRISE. We'll share stories of friendship and charity. We'll also collect personal care products (shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, etc.) for women and children living in a temporary shelter. A game, craft, and snack will round out the hour.
Blue Willow Bookshop is pleased to partner with Leibman's Wine and Fine Foods to welcome Rebecca Rather to Houston. Rebecca will be in town to sign her newest cookbook, Pastry Queen Parties: Entertaining Friends and Family, Texas Style.
Rebecca is a native Texan, owner of Rather Sweet Bakery in Fredericksburg, and one of Blue Willow's favorite cookbook authors. Her recipes are clever and easy to prepare. In Pastry Queen Parties, she celebrates good food in Texas, including a West Texas ranch-style dinner and a Gulf Coast summer beach party. From Chicken Fried Shrimp to Hostess-with-the-Mostest Cupcakes, each recipe’s a winner!
